Rethinking No Screentime Policies

Screens are not banned here, and they are not the default. Teachers use short, guided sessions with age-appropriate content to introduce colors, shapes, letters and early numeracy. The rest of the day stays hands-on: active play, conversation, art and social time. The goal is digital literacy without losing what young children learn by doing. Ask us how this looks in your child's room.

This page has nothing to do with comments or logins. It is where our policies live: the nut-free rule, the fever and illness rules, and everything a family needs to know before the first morning. Read it once, keep it handy, and ask us about anything that is unclear.

What this looks like in practice

A policy day is mostly invisible to children, and that is the point. Breakfast and lunch come out of nut-free bags. A child with a fever stays home. A toddler who is learning colours may spend a few guided minutes with a teacher and a tablet, then move to the sand table. Teachers watch for runny noses and loose stools the same way they watch for sharing.

At home, you notice the difference in small ways. Your child talks about letters seen that morning, then asks to build a tower instead of watching a show. You pack lunch without checking for nut labels twice. You know the fever rule before you need it, not the morning it happens. A clear policy takes the guesswork out of the week.

Three young children walk along a concrete curb scattered with fallen leaves, with the child in front wearing a red cherry-patterned jacket and looking down.
Three young boys sit at a green table coloring line drawings with crayons, with a red and white toy structure visible on the left.
